On-page check of the Ranking URL
An on-demand check on click, when to use it and how to interpret the result.
The On-page check is started from the Ranking URL in Rankings. It checks the specific URL that actually ranks for the keyword. It draws from the wallet only on click and is not part of the automatic routine.
When it makes sense
- The wrong category or product is ranking.
- The keyword is falling while the SERP competitors look stable.
- You want a quick technical/on-page snapshot of the exact URL.
- After a change you want to check whether the page is accessible.
Steps
- 1Find the row
Filter the keyword and check the Ranking URL.
- 2Confirm the URL
Do not pay for a check on an obviously wrong/old snapshot before you run new rankings.
- 3Click On-page
The action is charged on click.
- 4Review the result
Use it as a diagnostic, not as an automatic SEO score.
- 5Fix the site and measure again
The On-page result alone does not change the rank.
Questions & answers
Does the check start automatically for every row?
No. Only on click.
Why is the URL not the page I expect?
Google ranked a different URL. Check cannibalization, intent and internal links.
