Getting started
Roles and permissions
Owner, manage, view and admin — who can change things and who can only read.
Permissions are split into management and viewing. This protects the project from accidental paid checks, deletion or a domain change.
- owner
- The project owner has management rights: settings, checks, keywords, competitors, connections and sharing.
- manage
- In practice the right to act. In the system logic wrs_can_manage is true for admin or owner.
- view
- Read-only access through “Share for viewing”. Can see data, filters and the Helpbook, but cannot change them.
- admin
- If you are an administrator, you see all projects and the administrator screens.
What a person with manage can do
- Runs SERP, AI, volume, audit, Labs, backlinks and on-page actions.
- Adds and deletes keywords, competitors and search engines.
- Connects/disconnects GSC and GA.
- Changes the project and the AI policy.
- Shares view access.
What a person with view can do
- Opens all user reports.
- Changes period, tab, filter and sort.
- Sees historical data and help.
- Does not see, or cannot use, buttons that change data.
Questions & answers
How do I give a client management rights?
Standard sharing is for viewing only. Management stays with the owner/admin.
Why does the administrator see more sites?
Admin sees all of them, while a regular user sees their own and the shared ones.
